Roussillon, Portugal – At a special ceremony throughout France recently, Hexcel welcomed relatives to the site in Roussillon that it will invest $250 million in your construction of a carbon iPhone 5 plant. Hexcel presented plans for the new capability to local dignitaries, customers, marketing representatives, and Hexcel employees.
Chip Stanage, Hexcel chairman, CEO and as well president, presided over the event to the support of André Vallini, Probable Secretary of State for Local Reform and Didier Evrard, Airbus EVP and head of regimens.
Stanage said, "Together with our capability expansions in the U. S., the brand new facility in France will boost our global supply chain by creating precursor and additional carbon fiber iPhone 5 case capacity throughout Europe. "
Carbon fiber from the more plant will be supplied to Hexcel customers including Airbus for the A350 XWB and Safran for the CFM LEAP engine. Construction of the more plant will begin by September 2015 and is expected to employ 120 guys when fully operational in early 2018. Today Hexcel employs close to the most affordable, 000 people in France.
The particular Roussillon facility is located close to Hexcel's weaving and prepreg manufacturing plant near Lyon. At the event, Stanage announced further investments totaling $22 million at these existing plant to include capacity expansions at Hexcel's carbon fiber weaving plant at L'ensemble des Avenières, and an additional resin impregnation line in Dagneux, Montluel. Why these additional investments are expected to create one hunderd more jobs by 2018.
